Well, May 1st was Trent's first day at Jan Werner's Adult Daycare. I guess it wasn't so bad. The young lady that was Trent's student called me today to say that he had stopped by her office to say there were a lot of things to do that he liked. She said he especially liked the PT equipment but that he can't use any until we get an eval and treat script for monitored physical activity.
I found it interesting that my Mom, who also attends the daycare, called to say that Trent had bothered everyone which I think means he bothered her with his roaming about. He also said he'd ride her bus home so Mom tattled on him.
I was relieved to know that Trent had supervision but I think I saw getting supervision as an answer to a bigger problem. I walked into a quiet house without some issue meeting me behind the door. The problem that I hadn't anticipated was Trent's agitation with the new schedule of events. Let's just say the evening went downhill quickly. I also discovered that Trent had again unplugged the freezer and the food had to be thrown out.
Today I had a late patient. I thought I'd be about 20 minutes behind Trent getting home and that things should be okay. I'm wrong a lot these days. My bedding plants will drown before the summer is over and my water bill that should be down 25% and save water won't happen. My shoulder should be okay since I won't be hauling hoses. Of course, tonight I'm out in the dark covering plants and lifting my pots to bring in the house. The weatherman says a sure freeze between 4 and 10 in the morning.
I am still hoping that having a full five days at Jan Werner's next week will help to establish a new routine. Maybe he'll settle down better when he gets in. I will have to find someone to be at the house on my late days to watch him until I get home if it doesn't.
