The Weekend goes quickly

Seems I worked the whole weekend trying to get closer to catching up. It is really hard to get around town to get things done. I can't leave Trent at home and it is so stressful to take him when I go. I had to take Pugly to the vet for his shots. I thought that if I took Trent and Cookie, he'd stay in the car with her until they got through with Pugly. We didn't take a leash for Cookie and thought Trent would realize that. Cookie just goes crazy with larger dogs. I'd been inside maybe 3 minutes when Trent came in. We talked about it being hard to control her without a leash and he went back out and about 3 minutes later he was back in. So he stayed in the waiting room with Cookie going crazy. Next time we'll not take Cookie.

Trent is sleeping more and more on the weekends. Each time he wakes up from a nap, he changes clothes. I go back in after him, hang them up before they get to the dirty clothes if possible. Some days getting dressed or undressed is not a problem but most days now take some encouraging or help for him to get dressed. So I'm having to get up a little earlier to make sure we have time to get him dressed.

They call him "Coach" at the adult daycare. I know he likes that. He also is pretty sure that he's in charge of the buses out there. When I pick him up early, he tells the workers how much he appreciates their getting things done for him that day. He keeps trying to get everyone to run when they take their walks. And then there's my mother who likes to 'tattle on Trent when he doesn't quite know the rules. It really keeps you on your toes!

I missed my one night a month to go to my caregiver's meeting. Beth came by but the bus hadn't gotten there in time and Beth had to leave. I know it sounds awful, but when I walked in and Trent was here, my heart just sunk. I missed being with others that 'get' what this situation is like. None of them have two, but they do get how stressful it must be. AND it is!
Oh, well, there's always next month.

The daylilies have all had at least one bloom now. While Garrett was in dental school in Houston one summer, we went to the botanical gardens there. There was a sale on daylilies going on and we bought some spectacular ones. The one above is about 6" across with slight ruffles on the petals. The one below is large but the color is unusual and I love it! It was a beautiful weekend and I enjoyed getting out to look at all the new colors and blooms.

In the next couple of days, be looking for Dottie, Garrett's new baby Boston Terrier. The news on Baby Girl Phipps will be posted on or after July 1, 2008. I can't wait! I've called several times today just to check on them but haven't heard back. Sure wish they'd call........

The day lilies are outstanding. When we lived in Edna we had double day lilies that I just loved. I don't know why I haven't ever put any in out here. Any word yet on Baby Girl???? I've been thinking about all of you. I will try to catch you tomorrow evening. Laura Louuuuuuuuuu
